The beautiful Drava River has an international and southern flavour as it flows from the South Tyrolean Alps through the sunny south of Austria and on through Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary to its mouth in the Danube. En route along the Austrian Drava, you will visit proud castles and ornate Renaissance palaces, Gothic churches with valuable frescoes, dreamy villages and historic towns. Follow in the footsteps of the Romans in Aguntum and Teurnia - the glittering blue Carinthian lakes invite you to enjoy a wonderful swim afterwards. And all this against the marvellous backdrop of magnificent mountain panoramas. Slovenia and Croatia offer a contrasting programme of natural landscapes, tranquil villages and cultural highlights in the major cities before the Drava and Mura rivers merge in a dreamy floodplain near Legrad - a place that marks the end of the Drava Cycle Path for the time being.
