St John's wort, the bringer of light, puts you in a good mood even on gloomy days. With its delicate, grassy flavour, it is reminiscent of green tea and goes perfectly with bitter salads and pasta dishes. St. John's wort is harvested by herbalists every year on St. John's Day, 24 June. The traditional harvest around the summer solstice gives the herb, which is also known in folklore as light herb or hard hay, a very special strength.
