Quinoa is the staple food in the Andes and is therefore also known as "Inca rice" or "Inca gold"!
Quinoa has a particularly high nutritional quality. It contains a lot of fibre, calcium, iron and magnesium and has a better protein composition than cereals. This is why quinoa is increasingly being referred to as a "superfood".
Our quinoa is desaponised. This means that the outermost husk is removed by polishing, along with the saponins (bitter substances) it contains. This allows the grain to fully develop its delicate nutty flavour!
